A truly timely reminder for this rapidly changing society in the 21 century.

Self-honor is also interchangeable with the words Know Thy Self. To honor our self we have to know the many aspects of ourselves. The tangible and the intangible, the visible and the invisible, the subtle and the vibrational, and our inner kingdom and all that is resides in ourselves. Our psychology, our mental, and emotional faculties, spiritual, neurobiology, neurohormonal, biochemistry, human physiology, self-love, self-esteem, self-confidence,  etc.

Not surprising, there are many people, who don’t have a healthy respect for themselves based on social norms.  Subsequently, drowning in their shadow self. To honor thy self is to work on the many layers of ourselves. Through self-introspection, self-analysis, and daily journaling. Moreover, When people don’t respect themselves, it will be self-evident through their thought processes, emotional proclivities to negative feelings, habits, and behavior.

So why is it so important that we really start working on ourselves? Taking time out to honor ourselves, is absolutely essential due to the escalation of depression, anxiety, worry, suicide rate, and fear, etc in the 21 century. Because a majority of humans, according to one university in America, are only using 10% of their human potential, according to Earl Nightingale.

In a recent gallop poll, it was found that 86% of humans across planet earth, are unhappy, with their lives. A lot of humans, do not realize that their perception of reality is very limited, due to their genetic and environmental factors. Self Honor is the ability to appreciate how much there is to unlearn and relearn. Self-honor is showing one’s ability to discern from disempowering, thoughts, attitudes, negative emotions, procrastination, and self-sabotage habits etc. One who displays Self Honor is a True Visionary. Moreover, has a mighty mission for his/her life through the power of services to others.

The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.

As we learn to honor ourselves, we learn to subdue certain negative traits about ourselves, especially our emotions of…

Jealousy,Anger,Greed,Fear,Hatred,Revenge andSuperstition.

We need to eliminate all of those negative traits, but if we just eliminate them, there will be a vacuum. We must fill that vacuum with positive emotions.

Developing positive emotions is very good for two reasons: 1) they replace the negative emotions, but more important, 2) they are the path to success.

Self Honor…. will allow you to ….

To Honor yourself…..You must have a Purpose Understanding your own sense of purpose is absolutely imperative for honoring yourself.  Learning to craft a mission that reflects the vision you have for your life is essential for honoring yourself. Ask yourself: What do I want of myself? When you honor yourself, when you give yourself the same love and respect you give to others, you can free yourself from comparison and self-doubt.

Do you take time for quiet reverent, meditation, self-reflection, self-contemplation, journaling, fasting, spending time in nature, yoga, Qi Gong exercise, eating right. a hobby etc? This is self-honoring practice. What do you say to yourself when you make a mistake? Do you honor yourself by saying that it was a good effort and looking for the lesson you learned? Or do you dishonor yourself by berating, condemning, and chastising yourself?
